At Shri Kali Ashram our teachings reflect our unique, traditional heritage of learning. Shri Kali Ashram is a place where you can find the whole meaning of the timeless, holistic Tantric science. We teach a system of Shaiva Tantra that cannot be read independently. One has to be traditionally initiated to understand the Shaiva-Shakta Tantras.

Sacredness is not something that one just comes by—one has to actively build it. We need to walk into sacred zones and actually construct sacredness in ourselves. In contemporary times this has been forgotten. The science of the Shaiva-Shakta Tantras helps us to construct a sacred life. Here, men learn to consecrate their partners as Goddesses. On honoring the Goddess, men live as sacred beings!

The process of building sacredness involves the use of our body, mind and spirit to actualize this now, in this plane. We use āsanas, prāṇāyāma, bandhas, and dhyāna to culture a body that becomes the temple of truth. The Tantras and their teachings re-impress in our mind the sacredness of life. The Divine is embraced in a way that drives away all limitations and limited identities. One is rendered sacred in accordance with the Divine teachings of the Tantras. With such an ideology, students or sādhakas learn efficiently and with positivism.

Yoga is the only science that does not teach one to compete. It is through competition that we create an inner dialogue of differences which emerges as politics—the ‘me vs. you’ which rules our inner mind, causes self-alienation and makes us see a hostile world. This is the source of hate and contempt. It takes strength and correct knowledge to include another sentient or human being as sacred or Divine. Only then, can one actually love! We may have many lifetimes, but in this body, only one—so let's make the best out of this one life and give the best to all the children of God. In this very thought and way lies the actual nurturing of a spiritual world.

By dividing, grouping, and making subgroups we cause alienation and separation, isolate ourselves and see otherness and differences which only make us feel lonely, bitter, and agitated. This causes conflicting views that make us unhappy and even makes us see our life-partner as alien. We part with bitterness to live in isolation and repeat this again and again with another person—this is not Tantra, spiritualism or religion either. This is not life.

The teachings here at Shri Kali Ashram promote one to become wholesome and have a wholesome relationship, not just experiment on each other. One experiments because one cannot trust oneself and therefore cannot trust others. In this Tantric Ashram, we teach love; not just physical love but self-love and love of each other. We impart the software of love. This software of love replaces all alienation and therefore dysfunctions. We learn to love each other—truly, not just for show. It is by loving each other that we actually grow. Without love, we languish away alone like a miserable android, incapable of feeling. It is fear that keeps us within the limitations of power-centrism or false ego and prevents us from trust, feeling and love.

Couples realize that through Tantra they actually have a yardstick of love. Not ‘my-idea-of-love’ or ‘your-idea-of-love’ but a premise where both can love without fear of being the loser. What is missing from modern relationships is the trust equation. Trust only comes with inner strength, which comes only with honest spiritualism, not make-believe fads! We teach you to touch the deep aspect of yourself that connects you with the Divine (Brahman, Śiva, Viṣṇu, Gaṇapati, Devī, Kālī, Kṛṣṇa, Buddha, or Christ) and learn to regard yourself and others as sacred or Divine.

This is Tantra. We teach you to honor all aspects and cultures of spiritualism. We are not mere liberals—we show you that all spiritual sciences are one and each as precious as the other. They are like pearls, rubies, and diamonds. They all stand for true values. This Divine aspect of religion actually makes up our identity, and it is important not to feel wrong about it. It is on acknowledging the positive side of our cultural past that we learn to honor ourselves and others.

This is what Shri Kali Ashram prides itself on. We are unique in that we can show the validity of all religions and also show you the path through Tantra. Every valid religion has an inner core—this core is its esoteric side, which is known in the Sanskrit language as Tantra. It is the higher, subtle religion. The ordinary reading of religion is like Newtonian physics and the subtle and higher core aspect of religion is like quantum physics. Ordinary education on religion is limited and therefore the ordinary level of religious knowledge does not make us see more than the immediate, gross, coarse realities of the human world. This is often termed by the Tantrics as the way of the paśu or beast. The esoteric side is the rahasya sampradāya, which we teach.

With Tantra, you choose a life of being wholesome. Your sexuality becomes a sacred path—it takes you to the Divine. It empowers you to honor and love yourself and your partner as a Goddess. One becomes a Tantric or a Goddess. Every aspect of our system is oriented towards helping the student gain his or her full potential as a Tantric and a Yogi. At Shri Kali Ashram, we believe that the learning curve should be short and living should be long.

Shri Kali Ashram is family friendly. If you are travelling with children, we can arrange for a nanny during classes. The cost of our daily nanny service is $110 US per month. Children under 5 years old eat and board for free. Children 6-12 years old are half the amount of food and board as an adult.
